A wildly successful Great Big Crunch 2010!

It’s just in it’s 3rd year but as of March 11th there were almostĀ 52,000 students who participated in theĀ Great Big Crunch 2010! Two entire Ontario School Districts crunched, Sudbury and Grey Bruce, kids across Canada crunched and some children in Amsterdam and Morocco crunched as well!

THis is a picture

A great big, crunchy thank you to everyone who participated. Here in Toronto, the staff of the Heart and Stroke Foundation brought their own apples to work and crunched at 2:30pm. FoodShare’s event in the warehouse was a thing of beauty to behold. 85 grade three and four students from Brock and Pauline participated in an event that brought tears to everyone’s eyes. Peter Mitchell, an apple producer represented all the farmers who grow our food.

And a very special thanks for the bees that pollinated the blossoms that created the apples that the Norfolk Apple Producers picked so that we could all, at the very same moment, be mindful of the delicious juicy taste of an apple!
